Individuals...

USMS now offers Online Registration for renewals and new registrations. This secure online registration system is powered by Club Assistant and requires a payment with a MasterCard or Visa charge card. The Florida LMSC does not collect Club Fees online. Only USMS and Florida LMSC fees are collected. You MUST PAY Club fees to the local Clubs individually by check. DO NOT REGISTER ONLINE if you have already turned in your registration form to your Club/Chapter registrar. Contact your registrar if you have not received your registration card.

Please read these instructions for registering first. Instructions For Individuals

When you register online, you will have the opportunity to print your registration card as well as have the registrar mail you one, no waiting to get your USMS number. If you are renewing, just use your 5 digit permanent ID, which is the last 5 digits of your registration number, i.e., 148A-02555 where the 02555 is the permanent ID. You will have to verify your date of birth, and use the same name you used previously on your registration card, the system will prompt you and is simple to use. You may also continue to do paper mail-in registration through your Club Registrar by filling out and printing an interactive registration form(*).

The secure link to register online with the Florida LMSC can be found here by clicking here for Florida

USMS INSURANCE PROGRAM

The USMS Insurance Program, funded by a portion of the National Registration Fee, provides Secondary Accident Insurance coverage for USMS members. Liability coverage is provided for USMS members, member clubs, LMSC officials and volunteers acting on behalf of and with the approval of USMS.

Secondary Personal Accident Insurance

Secondary Accident Insurance covers the USMS member during USMS sanctioned and recognized meets, supervised practices and preapproved events. In sanctioned events, ALL competitors must hold current USMS registration. At supervised practices, ALL participants must be registered USMS or USA Swimming members and practice must be under the direct supervision of a USMS Member or USA Swimming certified coach. If a USA-registered swimmer participates in a practice, insurance covers all swimmers (Masters and USA) ONLY if a USA-certified coach is on deck during the entire practice.

General Liability Insurance

Liability coverage is provided for claims of negligence against the insured by any person, including participants, for bodily injury or property damage arising out to insured activities. Coverage is also included for claims arising from a written contract related to insured activities.

It is imperative that all incidents, no matter how minor, be reported as soon as practicable. The USMS Report of Occurrence should be used to report incidents

The Report of Occurrence, specific coverages and exclusions, and all other information relating to insurance can be found in the Insurance Section (10 pages, pdf format) of the LMSC handbook on the USMS web site. The actual Report of Occurence form is on page 7.

PDF Files

PDF (Portable Document Format) is an internet format that allows any computer operating system (Windows, Mac, Unix, Linux, and more) using any browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, AOL, and more) to print and/or read a document so it is the same regardless of what system is being used. The format was developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated.

You need special software to create and to read .pdf files. Most newer computers already have the necessary software to read .pdf. Look for Acrobat Reader on your computer.

If you don't already have Acrobat Reader, the good news is that it is FREE. All you have to do is download it from the Adobe site. Click HERE to go to Adobe; then, follow the instructions at the site to download and install the version you need for your computer.

Once Acrobat Reader is installed on your computer, click the link you want, in this case the registration form. You won't see anything on your monitor, but you should get a little dialogue box that says the file is being downloaded onto your computer (make a note where it's being saved on your computer so you can find it later!).

You don't need to be connected to the internet anymore to read or print the file. Double click (open) the file and if everything worked the way it was supposed to, Acrobat Reader will automatically come in and open the file, which you can then read and/or print.
